Training

.

We are keen that training in all aspects of radio will be available to our volunteers free of charge.

Ness Radio will soon offer its volunteers SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) recognised training, the award offered is the 'Level II VQ in Radio Production' designed by Skillset & provided by 'The Highlands & Islands Community Broadcasting Federation' (HICBF) with delivery via the Edinburgh based 'The Qualifications Company' (TQC). This package is a nationally recognised qualification recently designed by 'Skillset' (see note below). Don't worry, its not as complex as it all sounds, we're here to help.

The Chairman of Ness Radio is an SQA Approved Assessor for the above qualification, but we will soon need more assessors and verifiers for this qualification as the station grows and that could be you!!

For the volunteers who want to go further we may pay for BBC based training at either Elstree, Herts, Marylebone London, Television Centre London or at Wood Norton. London based BBC training is the best bar none.
