Visual Arts Officer - Closing date 13/08/2007
At an exciting time for the arts in Scotland we invite you to contribute to creating a confident cultured Scotland where everyone takes part in the arts.
This is an exciting opportunity for professional development either as a Fixed Term Appointment, Job Share or a Secondment opportunity, where applicable.
You will work as part of a small team that is responsible for supporting the development of contemporary visual arts across Scotland. You will have responsibility for an exciting programme of funding schemes for individual visual artists, encouraging excellence and innovation by supporting the work of artists at different stages of their careers. You will have responsibility for the allocation of grants and awards and will act as the main contact for artists and others seeking advice and information about individual funding. A key aspect of the role is supporting and developing external partnerships, including our national and international residencies programmes; artists award schemes, artists’ film and video and support for artists’ publications. You will have a strong understanding of the visual arts sector, a good overview of national and international developments in this field and a good understanding of individual artistic practice.
